Syska Hennessy created a task force to help companies phase out natural gas heating in New York City
After the enactment of NYC Intro 2317 law banning installation of any new natural gas based heating system in new construction, Syska Hennessey is stepping up to help organizations plan effective alternatives. The task force includes members from SH's sustainability department and advisors who helped create electrification legislation in the past; the group will help keep clients' utility bills low while reducing carbon emissions. The company is also partnering with local electric providers to provide capital incentives themselves. As the company already promotes all-electric baseline options for their own new constructions, the task force is expected to provide notable benefit.
Labor|ESGIn response to volatile demand in the wake of the first COVID-19 surge, the company undertook a comprehensive cost reduction program, aimed at shoring up labor and supply costs.
